Mt. Yoshino(Yoshino Village, Yoshino County, Nara Prefecture)

There are more than 200 varieties and over 30,000 cherry blossoms, especially Shiroyama cherry blossoms in Mt. Yoshino, which is divided into 4 areas. The mountain is divided into lower, middle, upper, inner 1,000 trees. The cherry blossoms are so gorgeous, it looks like a 1,000 trees, that's where the name 1,000 comes from.

Cherry Blossoms At Mt. Yoshino

Mount Yoshino has been Japan's most famous cherry blossom viewing spot for many centuries. Hideyoshi Toyotomi has visited in the past just for the cherry blossoms. Many vistitors from all over the world come to see the cherry blossoms which are divided into 4 areas, lower 1,000, middle 1,000, upper 1,000, and inner 1,000. In 1990, Mt. Yoshino has been selected as one of the best 100 spots to view cherry blossoms in Japan. Most of the cherry blossoms planted here are Shiroyama cherry blossoms and there are over 30,000. It starts blooming in early April and makes it way up the mountain from the lower area to the upper and inner area.

Four Seasons Of Mt. Yoshino

Mt. Yoshino is famous for being one of the best cherry blossom spots in Japan, but when spring ends and summer begins, hydrangea's fill the mountain and becomes a popular therapeutic forrest spot. And in autumn, the mountains blaze red and yellow, which also attracts visitors to hike in the mountains. And in the winter, it is covered in snow and the quietness and stillness of the mountain is breathtaking.
